Rodefeld, Mechele

My name is Mechele Rodefeld, and I am an MLL teacher here at Benjamin E Mays IB World School. This is my first year at Benjamin E Mays, although I taught at Four Seasons A+ Elementary in St. Paul for 25 years. 

I got my B.A. in French and Spanish from University of Wisconsin-Madison and my teaching license in ELL and Spanish from Hamline University.

I was born in Wisconsin, so of course I cheer for the Packers!  I live in Blaine with my family. I have 3 sons and 1 daughter, but only one of them is still at home.  In my time away from school, I enjoy reading, baking and exploring the Twin Cities.  I also like cheering for my kids at Nordic ski races, cross country races, hockey games, and track meets.

As an educator, I want my students to feel supported as they become the best versions of themselves as well as happy, productive citizens. I hope my students retain their home languages because being bilingual is a gift!  I am very excited to begin this new adventure at Benjamin E Mays!
