Staff Profile

Hello ECSE Families! 

My name is Melanie Aggen, I have been an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at Benjamin E Mays since the 2021-22 school year. I’ve been in St. Paul Public Schools since 2005 in other roles, including special education paraprofessional and a group leader in the Discovery Club program.

I am excited to work with your child! It brings me so much joy to see students learn and grow throughout our time together! I value collaborating with families to support each child’s needs and celebrate their successes along the way.

I am also a parent to an SPPS student. My son is a 4th grader this year! He and I live in St. Paul with our pet cats. When I am not at school, I love spending time outside, riding my bike, and doing just about any craft project, especially crocheting! Thanks to my son, I know a lot about dinosaurs and Pokemon too! 🙂
