Benjamin E. Mays Parent Advisory Council

The mission of Benjamin E. Mays Parent Advisory Council is to build an active partnership and dialogue between parents and staff around school issues and parent concerns related to overall student success at Benjamin E. Mays IB World School. The Parent Advisory Council will meet several times throughout the year to strengthen the Parent-School community and to learn with and from each other.

Goals: 

1. Meeting the needs of all of our student’s academics, social-emotional development, cultural, and linguistics (home language) needs. 

2. Fostering strong, collaborative relationships with teachers and parents.

3. Creating an environment that is safe, caring and modeling high expectations. 

4. Increase access and opportunities for parent involvement and/or engagement.

5. Create greater opportunities for our students to explore the world that is around them. 

6. Build community within the building and within the broader community. 

7. Engage the community with bringing cultural and historical knowledge to children.
