FICTION

  1. What do you predict the story will be about? Explain your prediction.
  2. What is the setting of the story?
  3. Who are the main characters?
  4. What is the problem/solution in the story?
  5. What is a connection you can make to this story?
  6. If you could change the ending, would you? Why or why not?
  7. Who is your favorite character and why?
  8. What was the author's purpose for writing this story?
     

NON-FICTION

  1. What makes this a non-fiction text?
  2. What are 3 non-fiction text features that you can find?
  3. What are 3 facts you learned from the text?
  4. How did the photos/captions help you understand?
  5. What questions would you ask the author if you were able to sit down with him/her?
